Information the app uses
Pollen Jotter is built for self-tracking. It is designed to support symptom logging, forecasts, reminders, and optional sync without advertising or cross-app tracking.
Information the app uses
- Location information, if you choose GPS mode or enter a postcode for local pollen forecasts.
- Health and wellness diary information you enter, such as symptom logs, reminder history, notes, selected symptoms, and custom tags.
- App preferences such as alert thresholds, notification schedules, saved locations, and iCloud sync preference.
- Purchase status for Premium subscriptions handled through Apple In-App Purchase.
- Generated insight summaries created from your logged data using on-device processing when available.
How the app uses this information
- Showing local pollen forecasts for the locations you choose.
- Sending pollen alerts, weekly reports, and reminder notifications when you enable them.
- Saving your symptom history, tags, and preferences on your device.
- Optionally syncing your profile, diary, settings, reminders, and custom data through your private iCloud account.
- Generating short summaries of recent logging patterns inside the app.
Pollen Jotter is a self-tracking app. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
Location handling
- If you use GPS mode, the app requests When In Use location access so it can fetch a pollen forecast for your current area.
- If you do not want to grant location access, you can use manual postcode entry instead.
- The app does not request Always location access.
Storage and sync
Your data is primarily stored on your device.
If you enable iCloud sync, Pollen Jotter stores supported records in your private iCloud account using CloudKit so the same data can appear on your Apple devices signed into that account. iCloud sync is optional and can be turned off in the app.
Pollen forecast caches and other transient app data may remain local-only and are not treated as part of your synced diary record.
Purchases and subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Pollen Jotter does not receive your full payment card details.
The app may store enough purchase status information to unlock subscribed features and restore access on this device.
On-device insight summaries
When supported on your device, Pollen Jotter may generate short narrative insight summaries from your logged symptom and pollen data using on-device processing. These summaries stay within the app experience and are intended to describe logged patterns only.
If on-device generation is unavailable, the app falls back to built-in template summaries.
Sharing and third parties
Pollen Jotter does not sell your personal information.
Pollen Jotter does not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
Data may be processed by Apple services that are necessary for app functionality, such as iCloud or CloudKit, location services, notifications, and App Store purchase handling.
Your choices
- Disable location use by switching from GPS mode to manual postcode entry.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app and in iOS Settings.
- Disable iCloud sync in the app.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple ID > Subscriptions.
